Walmart's moving along!

Here's the site of Wal-Mart on U.S. 301, just south of the Middletown Kohl's store. Wal-Mart hopes to have the building ready to open this fall.

Levels Road Park

This is the site of the 8-acre dog park at the Levels Road Park site, in western Middletown. The dog park will be fenced, divided into two areas -- three acres for small dogs and five acres for bigger dogs.

Earthmovers working ...

At Levels Road Park, the roads throughout the 100-acre destination are being constructed daily.

Levels Road Parking Lot

A parking lot for the fishing pond and pier at Levels Road Park is being constructed.

Pond and pier

Can't you just imagine the feel of the sun warming your shoulders as you cast your fishing line into the pond? The 8-acre pond is complete and construction should be finished on the pier by the end of the year at Levels Road Park.

Ground broken for new Police Station

Governor Ruth Ann Minner joined Town of Middletown dignitaries on Tuesday, March 25, to break ground on the new Middletown Police Station. The new station will be located at 130 Hampden Road, near the Del. 1 exit intersection with Del. 299 and the Willow Grove Mill subdivision. Pictured here (left to right) are Middletown Councilman Bob Pierce, Vice-Mayor Jim Reynolds, Councilman Jason Faulkner, PNC Bank President Connie Bond Stuart, Middletown Police Lt. Dan Yeager, Middletown Police Chief Hank Tobin, Gov. Ruth Ann Minner, Middletown Mayor Ken Branner, Councilperson Robin Burgess, Councilman Bob McGhee and Jim Kelly, husband of Councilperson Kathy Kelly. Work began immediately on the site of the new station and town officials hope to cut the ribbon on the new station in early fall of 2008.

Below, check out the schematic design of the new building (at left) and Chief Tobin, Governor Minner and Mayor Branner pose after the groundbreaking with their shovels.
