Traffic stop leads to arrest, 80 grams of marijuana

On Sept.1, at about 11:17 p.m., Officer Ronald Davis conducted a traffic stop in the area of the 400 block of New Street. Officer Davis detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He also learned that the driver, Terrance Waters, 40, of Newark, was wanted for an outstanding traffic capias.
Waters was placed under arrest and 80.9 grams of marijuana was located in the vehicle. Waters was charged with possession of marijuana with aggravating factors (weight and packaging of the marijuana). Waters was also issued traffic citations for driving while license suspended, no proof of insurance, and no registration. Waters was arraigned released on $1,000 unsecured bond.
