Robbery suspects apprehended by MPD

On Monday, Oct. 17, at about 4:15 p.m., MPD Cpl. Miller responded to a report of an assault that had occurred in the 100 Block of Crawford Street.  Cpl. Miller met with the victim, who stated he was in his vehicle in front of an acquaintance's residence on Crawford Street when he was approached by two black male subjects known to him as “Reek” and “Fatty.”  These subjects forcibly entered the vehicle and began assaulting him.  As the subjects were assaulting him with their fists, they rifled through the victim’s pockets and vehicle, removing his cell phone, iPod and two pair of sunglasses.

Cpl. Miller conducted a check of the immediate vicinity and located one subject who matched the description of one of the subjects.  This subject, Tarik Williamson, 19, of Crawford Street, was later positively identified by the victim as having committed the robbery.

Assisting MPD officers identified “Fatty” as being Tyree Williamson’s nick-name, and a photo-array was created.  The victim identified Tyree Williamston, 18, of Crawford Street, as the second perpetrator.

Tarik Williamston was charged with robbery first degree and conspiracy second degree.  He was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was issued a $12,000 un-secured bond.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, Tyree Williamston responded to MPD Headquarters to turn himself in on the outstanding charges of robbery first degree and conspiracy second degree.  He was also arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 11, where he was issued a $27,000 secured bond.  Tyree was unable to post his bond, and was subsequently turned over to the Department of Corrections.
