Reporting a Crime
In the world of real estate it is all about location, location, location; but in the world of Law Enforcement, it is all about reporting, reporting, reporting. When you are reporting a crime that has been committed (either against you or another) there are few things to remember
¨ 1. Report it IMMEDIATELY!! Please do not wait several hours or days or even weeks. Every minute you wait is time wasted to solve the investigation
¨ 2. Report EVERYTHING!! Everything that you remember is important, no matter how minor of a detail it might be. Try not to report what you do not know or remember. It is not helpful to get false information during an investigation.
¨ 3. If you report a crime, be a positive part of the investigation. Answer all questions, be prepared for follow up questions, if you have questions or issues, present them to the investigating Officer. If you are presented with the opportunity to testify in court, you must appear; we need all parties to be involved to successfully prosecute a crime.
