Sex offender fails to register

On Feb. 23, at about 12:05 p.m., Officers from the Middletown Police Department were dispatched to the unit block of West Reybold Drive, Villagebrook, in reference to a domestic dispute/ theft. While conducting his investigation, Officer Joseph Womer was able to determine that Rodney Faulkner, 21, of Cheswold, had moved into the residence on Jan. 28, and the owner believed that Faulkner had stolen a mobile telephone from her.
Officer Womer did locate the stolen phone and also learned that Faulkner is a Tier 2 Registered Sex Offender, who had been living at the address without registering his change.
Faulkner was charged for failure to register as a sex offender and the theft. Faulkner also had two active traffic warrants for his arrest.
Faulkner was arraigned on the stated charges and was given a $250 secured bond for the sex offender violation and $2,000 unsecured bond for the theft. Faulkner was transported to Howard Young Correctional Center after failing to post his bond.
