Baby formula shoplifters arrested

   On Wednesday, March 14, the Middletown Police responded to the Walmart at 705 Middletown Warwick Road in reference a shoplifting complaint. The suspects had attempted to remove 118 cans of infant formula from the store. Responding officers were advised that the suspects had fled from the store in a green Honda Civic with New Jersey tags.
   The vehicle and two suspects identified as Sean McCoy-Burnett, 24, of Lumberton, N.J., and Jaron Benson, 24, of Williamstown, N.J., was located by Middletown police officers in the Waffle House parking lot. 
   The other two defendants, identified as Kemp Cain, 22, of Willingboro, N.J., and Anthony Martin, 21, of Philadelphia, Pa., was located a short time later in a nearby business and was taken into custody without incident.
   Officers were able to determine that the same suspects had removed approximately 90 cans of infant formula from the same store on March 5.
   The defendants were charged with both felony and misdemeanor shoplifting and conspiracy, based upon the value of the property, and were arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution on secured bond for the above listed charges.
   Jaron Benson was also charged with being a fugitive from justice for a probation violation through Burlington County, N.J.
