Juvenile charged with criminal mischief for damaging gazebo

On Friday, April 13, at about 12:45 a.m., Middletown Police responded to 23 E. Minglewood Dr. in reference to a criminal mischief complaint where a mailbox bad been damaged. Middletown police were able to obtain possible suspect information and responded to his residence to continue their investigation.
Upon arriving at the suspect’s residence, MPD officers located the juvenile hiding in the rear yard.
As a result of their investigation, MPD was able to determine that the same suspect, while in the company of an accomplice, had committed a similar crime causing about $1000 in damage to gazebo located at the M.O.T. Senior Center, 300 S. Scott St., Middletown, which had been reported to MPD on April 11.
The juvenile was arraigned on two counts of criminal mischief, conspiracy, and a curfew violation, and released to his mother on $1000 unsecured bond. The juvenile was also issued a no contact order with both victims as well as an 8 p.m. curfew.
