Three charged with marijuana possession

On April 3, at about 5:17 p.m., Officers from the Middletown Police Department were dispatched to the 100 Block of Liborio Drive in Middletown Village for a report of a suspicious vehicle. As OFC Ronald Davis approached an occupied vehicle and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle occupied by three males. With the assistance of another officer, the three male subjects were instructed to exit their vehicle. One of the males identified as Diego Gentles, 18, of Middletown, resisted arrest and attempted to flee. Gentles was taken in to custody after a brief struggle. One of the officers received minor injuries (scrapes) and personal property (eyeglasses) were damaged. Gentles was found to be in possession of approximately 8 grams of marijuana.
A second subject Jayvon Johnson, 18, of Smyrna, was also arrested. He had approximately 58.5 grams of marijuana and a scale in his possession.
The third subject, a 17-year-old from Middletown, was found to be possession of approximately 1.5 grams of marijuana. The 17-year-old was charged with possession of marijuana and turned over turned to his parents pending Family Court.
Gentles was charged with resisting arrest with force or violence, possession of marijuana, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Johnson was charged with possession of marijuana with an aggravating factor, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both Johnson and Gentles were arraigned and released on unsecured bond.
