Smyrna man, juvenile charged with possession of nearly 1/2 pound of marijuana

  Darius TolsonOn June 5, at about 6 p.m., while on proactive patrol, Officer First Class Ronald Davis observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Greenlawn Blvd.  An occupant of the vehicle was observed throwing trash onto the roadway.  

   The vehicle was stopped and Officer Davis made contact with the driver identified as Darius Tolson, 19, of Smyrna.

   Also in the vehicle were Jayvon Johnson, 18, of Smyrna, and a 16-year-old male, also from Smyrna.  Officer Davis smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.  Davis subsequently located a .22 calibre rifle, which had been modified by having the barrel and stock sawed down, along with 95 rounds of ammunition.

   Also located was about 216 grams of marijuana (almost a half a pound), a scale, and baggies used for packaging contraband, along with more than $400.

   All occupants of the vehicle were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance with an aggravating factor, conspiracy second degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felong, possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. 

   The 16-year-old was also charged with breach of release.  He was unable to post $33,000 cash bail and was committed to the NCC Detention Center.

   Jayvon Johnson was charged with the above listed offenses and was committed to Howard Young Correctional Center after failing to post a $42,250 bond.

   In addition to the above offenses, Darius Tolson was also charged with littering.  He was also committed to Howard Young Correctional Center after failing to post a $14,250 bond.
