Non-profits may sell food, items at Fireworks

4th of July festivities

   The annual 4th of July fireworks are scheduled to go off as usual on Wednesday, July 4, at dusk, at Silver Lake Park in Middletown.

    Earlier in the day, the Middletown Jaycees will present the third annual 4th of July parade. The parade will begin at 10 a.m.

    It begins at the Everett Meredith Middle School on South Broad Street, travels to Main Street, where performances will occur on the Four Corners. Non-profits invited to sell food, items at fireworks

    The Town of Middletown gives non-profit groups the opportunity to sell food and other novelties in Silver Lake Park during the evening of Wednesday, July 4, prior to the fireworks display.

    Groups must be non-profit and they must receive a permit from the Town of Middletown to be able to sell items in the Park.

    Some of the items sold in recent years include hot dogs, ice cream, water ice and glow necklaces.

    The fireworks begin at dusk. No dogs or open fires are allowed at the Park.
