Plywood theft caught in action

On April 11, at about 11:30 p.m., Middletown Police were dispatched to the community of The Estates at St Anne’s for a possible theft in progress of construction supplies. Upon arrival, officers stopped the suspect vehicle with numerous sheets of plywood in the bed of the truck.
The driver, identified as Eric Wasmundski, 50, of Millsboro, and his passenger, Raymond West, 39, of New Castle, had in fact removed 35 sheets of plywood, valued at $525, from a home construction jobsite. Both individuals were placed under arrest for theft, criminal trespass and conspiracy. Both were arraigned and released on a $1,000 unsecured bond. Both were also issued an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.
