Heroin arrest on Lockwood Street

On Oct. 14, at about 10 p.m., Officers McKinery and Fox of the Middletown Police Department were conducting foot patrols in the area of the 100 block of Lockwood Street, when they observed an unknown subject, later identified as Gary Johnson, 20, of Middletown, walking between various houses.
When the officers approached Johnson, he fled. After a short foot pursuit, Johnson was taken into custody. Officers discovered that Johnson had 130 individual baggies of heroin in his possession (total weight 3.25 grams) He also had an outstanding criminal warrant (violation of probation).
Johnson was charged with criminal trespass, possession of heroin and resisting arrest. He was processed, arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional for lack of $61,000 secured bond.
