Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

Date: September 21, 2012

On Sept. 8,  at about 9:54 p.m., OFC Joshua Stafford of the Middletown Police Department observed a vehicle on West Main Street with an equipment violation.  OFC Stafford also recognized the operator, Shaquille Enty, 20, of Bonnybrook Road, Middletown, and knew that his driving privileges were suspended.

 OFC Stafford initiated a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 301 and Peterson Road.  As Stafford made contact with Enty, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. OFC Stafford located a total of 28 grams of suspected marijuana within the vehicle; in addition, about $1,000 of suspected drug proceeds were also seized.

Enty was charged with:

  •  Poss. A Controlled Substance with One Aggravating Factor. 
  •  Poss. Of Drug Paraphernalia.
  •  Driving While Suspended.
  •  Failure to Have a Registration Plate Light.

and was issued a $16,000 unsecured bond.
