Crash at Gloucester Blvd.
|Date:||February 13, 2013|
On Feb. 7, at about 5 p.m., the Middletown Police were called to a property damage crash on westbound Del. 299, east of Gloucester Blvd. This was the third crash in this area within a three-hour period.
The investigation revealed that a 2007 Honda, driven by a 31-year-old Middletown resident and a 2012 Toyota, driven by a 36-year-old, also from Middletown, were both westbound on Del. 299 approaching the Gloucester Blvd intersection. Traffic was stop-and-go because of the heavy rush hour volume of traffic. The Toyota came to a stop and the Honda struck it the rear causing very minor damage to both vehicles.
The driver of the Honda was issued a citation for following too closely.
Both vehicles were driven from the scene. No one was injured. Traffic continued to move freely as the involved vehicles were moved to the shoulder.
