|Date:||February 18, 2013|
On Friday, Feb. 15, at about 12:07 p.m., Middletown Police identified the operator of a silver Mercedes as Anthony Miller, 23, of Liborio Drive, Middletown. The investigating officer was aware of the fact that Miller was wanted by the Court of Common Pleas for failure to appear in court for previous drug charges.
Miller was ordered out of the vehicle, at which time he became combative and actively resisted the officers’ attempts to take him into custody. Miller struck the officer several times before the officer was able to employ his Conducted Electrical Weapon (Taser), and subdue Miller.
Miller was transported to MPD headquarters, where he was charged with resisting arrest with force, offensive touching of a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. He has an outstanding capias for failure to appear in court for previous drug violation. Miller posted his bond of $1,000 secured, and was released pending a hearing in the Court of Common Pleas.
