School bus accident March 25

On March 25, at about 8:05 a.m., Middletown Police were dispatched to the area of Cedar Lane Road and Betsy Rawls Drive in reference to a reported weather related accident, heavy snowfall.
The investigation revealed that a 2003 Blue Bird school bus (Providence Creek Academy Charter School, Clayton) was traveling southbound on Cedar Lane Road and was approaching Betsy Rawls Drive. The bus driver advised that a DART Paratransit Bus was traveling in front of her and stopped with traffic. The driver of the school bus advised that she attempted to stop, but was unable to do so due to the snow covered roadway, and struck the rear of the Paratransit Bus, causing minor damage to both vehicles. The school bus had eight students on the bus at the time of the collision none were injured. There were no passengers on the Paratransit Bus. The driver of the school bus was issued a citation for following too close.
During the same time period, the Middletown Police Department investigated three additional weather-related property damage only collisions.
