|Date:||September 26, 2016|
On Sept. 24, 2016, at 5:10 a.m., a red 2011 Ford Focus, operated by a 31-year-old female of Magnolia, collided with a pedestrian, a 19-year-old male, of Wilmington, who was crossing from the north side of Merrimac Ave towards the south side, and was not at an intersection, nor in a crosswalk.
The pedestrian was transported to Christiana Emergency Center by Middletown Volunteer Hose ambulance, for life-threatening injuries to his head and legs. The 19-year-old male was listed in critical condition at that time, and was comatose. The investigation is still on-going. Traffic was allowed around the crash site with one lane while the investigation was underway.
