On Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at about 5 p.m., Middletown Police responded to the area of Del. 299, west of Brickmill Road, in reference to a personal injury accident caused by a subject involved in a shooting that occurred in the area of the 500 block of New Street.

The police investigation revealed the shooting involved two men in the area of the 500 block of New Street. The victim, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, fled from the area in a silver Buick Lacrosse and caused multiple motor vehicle accidents.

The victim of the shooting was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim is currently in critical, but stable condition.

All individuals involved in the motor vehicle accidents that sought medical attention were treated and released at an area hospital.
