  • Municipal Worker (seasonal)– Parks/Streets Dept.

    Town of Middletown has a seasonal opening in the Parks/Streets Department.

    Essential Requirements

    • Position involves a variety of physical tasks, in the parks/streets department,

    • Must be able to work May – Oct. 2017, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday; hours are not guaranteed. 

    • Pay Rate $12-15 per hour, based on experience.

    • Must have valid driver’s license; HS diploma/GED; be at least 18 years old; capable of lifting 55 lbs. without assistance. 

    • Must have ability to use hands to operate equipment; bend, squat, twist, and use of feet to operate lawn equipment. Must be able to work under conditions exposed to heat, rain, sun, humidity, pollen, other environmental allergens, as well as, in quiet and noisy environments. Visual requirements: close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

    Town of Middletown has a full-time opening for a Municipal Worker in the Maintenance Department.

    Essential Requirements

    • Assist with tasks in the maintenance department related to maintaining and repairing physical structures of Town buildings and property.
    • Experience with carpentry, masonry and brick work, hanging and finishing drywall, and painting.
    • Operating Town vehicle and equipment, including power tools as necessary.
    • Snow removal, plowing, and de-icing roadways.

    • Operating Town vehicle and equipment, including power tools as necessary.
    • Must be capable of being a lead person in the department.

  • Police Accreditation and Crime-Free Housing Coordinator

    Town of Middletown has a full-time opening for an experienced Police Accreditation and Crime-Free Housing Program Coordinator. An employee in this class is responsible for assessing and coordinating the needs of the accreditation process mandated by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA); this employee is responsible for assessing and coordinating the crime-free housing program in accordance with the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) standards; this employee works under the general direction of the Chief of Police or other designated supervisor.

    Essential Experience

    • Experience efficiently coordinating multiple activities and effectively communicating with all levels of employees, vendors and the general public, necessary. 
    •  Experience directly associated with the CALEA accreditation processes and/or the crime-free housing program specifically related to CPTED standards.
    • Undergraduate degree preferred with coursework in business administration or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • Valid driver’s license; HS diploma/GED; be at least 18 yrs. old.
    • Successfully pass a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation, and drug and alcohol testing.
