Mayor and three council members are elected for two-year terms during odd numbered years. The following year, the other three council seats are elected.  Elections are held at Town Hall.

Middletown Mayor & Council

    Meetings of the Mayor and Town Council of Middletown are held the first Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall, 19 W. Green St., Middletown.

   

Planning & Zoning Commission

    The Planning Commission is appointed by the mayor with the consent of town council and consists of 10 town residents.  The commission reviews proposed amendments to the town's zoning ordinances and other zoning changes, and makes recommendations to council.  Additionally, the commission is charged with reviewing the town's comprehensive plan, and makes recommendations to council for revisions.  Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in council chambers of Town Hall, 19 W. Green St., Middletown.

   

Board of Adjustments

    The Board of Adjustments is appointed by the mayor with the consent of town council and consists of five town residents. The board is responsible for granting or denying  variances, special exceptions and zoning appeals. Board of Adjustment meetings are scheduled monthly as needed in council chambers of Town Hall at 7 p.m., prior to the monthly council meeting.

   

Grant Review

    The Grant Review Committee is appointed by the mayor with the consent of council and consists of two town residents and a town councilmember. The committee is responsible for reviewing grant request applications that come into the town, with the help and advice of Town Finance Director Lou Vitola. The Committee makes recommendations to Mayor & Council regarding each individual grant application. The Committee meets each month as needed in council chambers of Town Hall, prior to the monthly town council meeting.
